Job summary

Indiana Department of Health (IDOH) is seeking a Governance Analyst to support centralized data governance, data steward activities, and policy development in Indianapolis. The role will drive data quality, privacy, and governance training across agency staff.

The analyst will coordinate with legal on data sharing, manage governance metrics, and ensure consistent interpretation of governance policies across divisions.

Qualifications

• Experience with Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog or a similar tool.
• Strong integrity and work ethics.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships across IDOH divisions.
• Project oversight to align priorities with strategic initiatives.
• Sound decision-making and root cause analysis.
• Excellent critical thinking, time management, and communication.
• Experience with data lineage tools and methods.
• Understand the data analysis life cycle in a business setting.
• Able to take critical feedback and adjust approaches.
• Proven ability to build trust and cooperation across teams.
• Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data dictionaries with data stewards.
• Lead data stewardship initiatives and policy writing.
• Deliver data literacy and training programs for staff.
• Collect and analyze data requests in the centralized data sharing system.
• Roll out and improve the governance framework.
• Enhance data quality and protect sensitive data across the agency.
• Collaborate with data owners, stewards, and directors to align priorities.
• Provide KPI and metrics reporting to leadership.
