Job summary

Indiana Department of Health (IDOH) is seeking a Governance Analyst to support data governance across the agency. You will assist with centralized data sharing, manage metadata and data quality, and help operationalize governance policies and SOPs.

You will train staff, collaborate with stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement of the data governance framework to protect sensitive information and improve data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

• Experience with data governance and data stewardship practices.
• Ability to translate policy into practical guardrails for analysts and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Assist with centralized data sharing and access governance, maintain audit trails, and coordinate with Legal on data sharing agreements.
• Identify technical metadata sources and maintain catalog fields and reference sheets.
• Draft and operationalize agency data governance policies and SOPs; maintain change logs and decision records.
• Develop and deliver data literacy and governance training; measure training impact and iterate materials.
• Collaborate with data owners and program directors to align priorities and communicate governance concepts clearly.
• Define KPIs and data quality metrics; provide progress reports and update governance roadmaps.
