Job summary

Guild Mortgage Company is seeking a Data Governance Lead to establish and enforce data governance across the organization. The role focuses on policies, data quality, security, and regulatory compliance, collaborating with data stewards, IT, and business units to drive governance initiatives.

The position offers an exempt, salaried role with a broad compensation range and opportunities to shape data governance programs, train staff, and report on governance metrics to executives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Management, Data Science, CS or related field.
• Master's degree preferred in information management / data science / CS.
• Minimum seven years experience in data governance, data management, or related roles.
• Experience developing and implementing governance frameworks, policies and procedures.
• Strong knowledge of data management principles, data quality and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with data governance tools and technologies such as catalogs, metadata and lineage tools.
• Analytical, problem-solving, and excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
• Collaborate with data stewards, IT teams, and business units to establish governance frameworks.
• Monitor and enforce governance policies and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct data quality assessments and lead data cleansing efforts.
• Define domains and assign data owners and stewards across organization.
• Develop and deliver training on governance policies and practices.
• Lead governance committee meetings and drive initiatives.
• Maintain data governance documentation including dictionaries and lineage.
• Evaluate and recommend governance tools and technologies.
• Provide regular governance reports and updates to senior management.
