CarGurus is seeking a Data Governance Engineer Intern to contribute to data quality, metadata, and security initiatives across the organization. You will work with data architects, engineers, analysts, and business teams during an 11-week Summer Internship.

This full-time, hybrid program runs June–August 2027 with a Boston-based office expectation about three days per week, helping you build practical data governance expertise while expanding your professional network.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS/IS/Data management.
• Interest in Python and data governance tools.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Establish data quality monitoring processes and reporting.
• Support metadata repositories and accurate data asset categorization.
• Understand and apply CarGurus data governance policies.
• Develop and maintain data lineage models.
• Provide input to adapt governance framework to new needs.
• Document governance processes, guidelines, and policies.
• Build automated workflows leveraging APIs for metadata, quality, and lineage.
