Job summary

The Illinois Tollway is implementing a Data Governance Analyst role to support data governance initiatives. You will work with the General Manager of Data Governance & Deprecation to establish policies, standards, and practices ensuring data quality, protection, and enterprise-wide compliance.

The position involves collaborating with diverse business units to map data inventories, analyze data flows, and track KPIs while contributing to training materials and governance documentation.

Qualifications

• Two to four years of experience in data analysis, data management, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
• Knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand terms for non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with data quality and metadata management tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
• Conduct data quality assessments and develop improvement strategies.
• Support the creation and maintenance of data inventories and enterprise information maps.
• Collaborate with business units to identify data stewards and clarify data ownership.
• Analyze and document data flows, data lineage, and metadata.
• Assist in the development and tracking of data governance metrics and KPIs.
• Support compliance efforts related to data protection regulations.
• Contribute to the creation of data governance training materials and documentation.
• Participate in data governance committee meetings and initiatives.
