Job summary

American Century Investments seeks a Manager, Data Engineering and AI-Ready Data Enablement to lead and guide enterprise data teams. You will mentor engineers, shape data platforms, and deliver AI-ready data products enriched with semantics and business context.

You will partner with IT and business data teams to enable self-service development, ensure data quality and governance, and drive scalable, secure data solutions across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 7+ years of hands-on engineering and 2+ years of people leadership.
• Experience building AI-ready data products with semantic modeling and metadata.
• Experience partnering IT and business data teams for self-service data products.
• 5+ years using SDLC and Agile methodologies.
• 1-3 years of AWS data services (S3, Glue, Redshift, EMR).
• 3-5 years of data movement experience (EMR, Glue).
• 5+ years of programming languages: Python, Java, Scala, C#.
• 1-3 years of DevOps with Git, builds, and deployment automation.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and hands-on guidance for data engineering projects.
• Build and maintain scalable data pipelines, data platforms and AI-ready data products.
• Collaborate with IT and business units to enable self-service data product development.
• Drive architectural decisions and governance for data products and semantic layer.
