Job summary

American Family Insurance is seeking a Data Engineer intern for the Data Product Services team in Madison, WI. The role focuses on building transformation tables for enterprise analytics and supporting Python ETL workflows across cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited 4-year college, graduating August 2027 or later.
• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree aligned with internship role.
• Hands-on Python programming focused on ETL workflows.

Responsibilities

• Support ETL development and data transformation pipelines.
• Contribute to cross-functional teams on data-driven applications.
• Create and maintain pytest test suites for pipelines.
• Document architectures and runbooks for handoffs.
• Review code and implement feedback to improve quality.
• Build SQL queries for BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Redshift, and RDS.
