Job summary

American Family Insurance invites a Summer 2027 Intern to join our Product Pricing and Data Science Engineering team in Madison, WI. You will help develop, price, and underwrite insurance products while gaining hands-on experience with Python, BigQuery, and Airflow.

The program runs 10–14 weeks from mid to late May through August and may include a housing-cost bonus depending on location. You’ll work on impactful projects across our business, network with colleagues, and receive coaching and

Qualifications

• Must be in student status at an accredited 4-year college or university during the internship.
• Pursuing Bachelor's degrees in Data Science or Computer Science; graduation August 2027 or later preferred.
• Strongly prefer candidates graduating in August 2028 or later.

Responsibilities

• Develop an understanding of American Family Insurance’s business and culture to support your work.
• Contribute creative ideas and strategic approaches in response to changing situations while working on data engineering projects, analytics pipelines, cloud-based data platforms, and AI-enabled applications.
