Job summary

Cambridge Investment Research, Inc. is seeking a Data Engineering Intern to support the BI and Insights team on on-site data platforms in Phoenix, AZ or Fairfield, IA.

The role focuses on building cloud data pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, and data governance in a hands-on internship with mentorship and professional development. Interns gain experience with Snowflake, Azure, Kafka, dbt, Git, and CI/CD while contributing to enterprise reporting and analytics projects.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student in a related field.
• Experience with Python, SQL, cloud technology, or data engineering concepts.
• Interest in building data pipelines, APIs, ETL/ELT workflows, and cloud data solutions.
• Understanding of data governance and data quality principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop and test data pipelines that ingest, transform, and curate data within Cambridge’s cloud data platform.
• Build and maintain API integrations and ETL/ELT workflows with guidance from data architects and engineers.
• Support data quality and data governance processes that improve the reliability and accessibility of enterprise data.
• Collaborate with data architects, engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable data solutions.
• Document data solutions and contribute to enterprise reporting and analytics initiatives.
