SMX is hiring a Data Engineer responsible for architecting, building, testing, and maintaining the data infrastructure for our mission partners. You will design scalable ELT/ETL pipelines, model data, and collaborate with analytics and business teams to deliver production-ready datasets.

The role requires a BS in Computer Science or related field, 3 years of data engineering or backend software experience, strong SQL, and hands-on AWS Glue, Glue Catalog, and Step Functions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 3 years of professional experience in data engineering or backend software.
• Active Top Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, construct, test, and maintain scalable data management systems and ETL pipelines.
• Build the infrastructure required for extraction, transformation, and loading from various sources using cloud technologies, with a focus on AWS Glue, Glue Catalog, and Step Functions.
• Support data migration efforts and ETL functions.
• Optimize database schemas and build systems to collect, validate, and prepare data.
• Combine raw information from different sources to meet business needs.
• Collaborate with analytics and business teams to deliver production-ready datasets.
