Job summary

SMX is seeking a Data Engineer to architect, build, test, and maintain data infrastructure for mission partners. You will design scalable ELT/ETL pipelines, develop data models, and create robust data systems using AWS Glue, Glue Catalog, and Step Functions.

The role requires 3 years of data engineering or backend experience, strong SQL skills, and an active Top Secret clearance. You will collaborate with analytics and business teams to deliver production-ready datasets and data quality

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS or related field.
3 years of professional data engineering or backend software engineering experience.
Active Top Secret security clearance.
Strong proficiency in SQL and data query creation.
Hands-on experience with AWS services: Glue, Glue Catalog, Step Functions.
Experience with data modeling, data migration, and ETL functions.
Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Design, construct, test, and maintain scalable data management systems and robust ELT/ETL pipelines.
Build infrastructure for data extraction, transformation, and loading from various sources using AWS technologies.
Support data migration efforts and ETL functions.
Optimize database schemas and data collection/validation systems.
