Job summary

JourneyTeam seeks a Data Engineer to join our Data & AI practice in Utah. You will design and build modern data engineering solutions within the Microsoft ecosystem, focusing on Fabric, with senior team members guiding architecture and delivery.

You will collaborate with Power BI developers, cloud admins, analysts, and clients to deliver scalable data pipelines, secure data flows, and robust dimensional models for reporting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on data engineering experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Fabric and Azure data services.
• Strong SQL and relational modeling skills.
• Experience with Spark in notebooks.
• Experience with data orchestration and pipelines.
• API ingestion with OAuth 2 and JSON normalization.
• Familiarity with data lakehouse concepts.
• Ability to collaborate with client teams and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Build and implement data solutions aligned with client objectives in Microsoft Fabric.
• Collaborate with Power BI developers, Azure admins, analysts to deliver data solutions.
• Develop data engineering patterns ensuring quality, reliability, scalability.
• Design and optimize dimensional models for Power BI reporting.
• Participate in design sessions and workshops with client teams.
• Apply best practices and repeatable patterns in data engineering.
• Create diagrams and documentation; maintain traceability.
• Communicate clearly and take ownership of tasks.
