Job summary

Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP is seeking a Mid-Level Data Engineer with SQL Server DBA experience to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines across CRM, ERP, Billing, and Legal systems. You will work with Fabric to deploy Lakehouse and Data Warehouse architectures, ensure data security, and support governance practices.

The role requires five years of hands-on data engineering experience, DBA skills, and strong SQL proficiency.

Qualifications

Five years of hands-on experience in data engineering, data warehousing, and SQL Server database administration.
Experience with regulated data in Legal, Tax, Finance, or Healthcare environments is desirable.
Architectural mindset prioritizing security and compliance in design.
Hands-on SQL Server administration, including tuning and maintenance.
Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines using data integration platforms.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement data integration pipelines with connectors.
Develop data solutions on Microsoft Fabric including Lakehouse and Data Warehouse.
Ensure data movement and access controls meet security requirements.
Develop transformation logic using T-SQL, Python, and PySpark.
Monitor SQL Server health, optimize, and manage backup and recovery.
Design and manage HA/DR architectures including Always-On and Log Shipping.
Monitor performance and optimize queries with indexing and statistics.
Manage user access, encryption, and compliance requirements.
Schedule and maintain backups for business continuity.
Implement automated data validation, error handling, and monitoring.
