Job summary

Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP in Los Angeles is seeking a Mid-Level Data Engineer with SQL Server DBA experience to join our data team. You will design, build, test, and maintain scalable data pipelines across our CRM, ERP, Billing, and Legal systems.

Reporting to the Data Architect, you will ensure health, security, and performance of our enterprise Microsoft SQL Server environments. You will implement ETL/ELT processes, optimize queries, and collaborate with Applications, Infrastructure, and

Qualifications

Five years of hands-on data engineering and SQL Server DBA experience.
Experience with regulated data in Legal, Tax, Finance, or Healthcare.
Strong SQL, T-SQL, and query profiling skills.
Ability to design secure, compliant data architectures.
Experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) or similar ETL/ELT tools.
Experience with Fabric data lakehouse and data warehouse solutions.
DevOps experience with Git and Azure DevOps.
Python or PySpark for data transformation.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement data integration pipelines.
Build end-to-end data solutions on Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouse and Data Warehouse.
Ensure data movement adheres to encryption standards and access controls.
Develop transformation logic using T-SQL, Python, and PySpark.
Monitor SQL Server health, optimize performance, and manage backups and security.
Design and manage HA/DR architectures (Always-On, Failover Clustering).
Collaborate with Applications, Infrastructure, and Security teams.
Implement automated data validation and monitoring.
