Job summary

CGS is seeking a passionate Data Engineer to support a growing Data Analytics and BI platform for federal customers. You will work in a team-oriented, Agile environment to design and implement data pipelines, APIs, and analytics solutions.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years of IT experience, strong Python/SQL/SAS skills, and the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance. This full-time role is based in Austin, TX, with the opportunity to influence data-driven decisions across government programs.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of IT experience designing and managing large, complex data sets and models.
• Experience building data pipelines from diverse data sources (structured/unstructured).
• Proficiency in ETL development, testing, and validation.
• Ability to manipulate data using Python, R, SQL, and SAS.
• Strong knowledge of big data tools and storage technologies.
• Solid understanding of Agile principles and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and data version control (Git).
• Experience creating and consuming APIs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop data pipelines to store, manage, and provision data to consumers.
• Collaborate as part of an Agile/Scrum team and follow best practices.
• Write code to ensure performance and reliability of data processing.
• Support automation for data ingest and pipeline maintenance.
• Translate requirements into scalable data solutions with stakeholders.
• Work with cross-functional teams including PMs and engineers.
