Job summary

Contact Government Services (CGS) is seeking a Data Engineer to join the Business Intelligence team in Arlington, VA. The role focuses on building and maintaining data pipelines, enabling data-driven decisions for federal customers.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years in IT with large data sets, strong Python/SQL skills, and experience with ETL, data modeling, and BI tools. Public Trust clearance is required, and the position offers opportunities for growth within a collaborative, Agile

Qualifications

• Must be a US Citizen (as required for government contracting)
• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
• 7+ years IT experience with large data sets and data models
• Experience building data pipelines from diverse data sources
• Proficiency in ETL development, testing, and validation
• Proficiency with Python, SQL, and SAS for data manipulation
• Strong knowledge of big data tools and storage technologies
• Understanding of Agile principles and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with PostgreSQL and Git version control

Responsibilities

• Develop end-to-end data pipelines to store, manage, and provide data to consumers
• Collaborate in an Agile/Scrum environment
• Write code to ensure data extraction and processing performance and reliability
• Automate data ingestion processes
• Advocate lean-agile engineering practices (API-first design, CI/CD, automated testing)
• Work with PMs and engineers to implement evolving requirements
• Foster a culture of customer service, collaboration, and cross-functional teamwork
• Collaborate with UX researchers, product managers, and engineers to translate needs into data solutions
