Job summary

Disney Decision Science and Integration (DDSI) is seeking a data engineer to build and maintain data pipelines and systems powering analytics and AI solutions at Lake Buena Vista. You will collaborate across business, science, and technology teams to design ETL processes and deploy scalable data solutions using PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Airflow, and cloud tools.

A strong grounding in Python, SQL, and GenAI will help drive impactful data products.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in technology roles, preferably in data engineering.
• Strong experience developing and maintaining ELT/ETL data pipelines.
• Experience with source-to-target mapping.
• Proven expertise with Python and SQL.
• Familiarity with GenAI concepts and tools, including LLMs, embeddings, and prompt engineering.
• Ability to understand business domains to support data requirements gathering and solution design.
• Experience in Dev, QA, Prod environments and using DevOps practices for code deployment.
• Strong understanding of database and data warehouse design.
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL or Snowflake.
• Experience managing code with GitLab or GitHub.
• Ability to communicate complex ideas to non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven capability to collaborate in a multi-team environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver data pipelines across development, sustainment, ad-hoc requests, prototyping, and research.
• Partner with business, science, and technology teams to clarify scope and data needs.
• Design and implement data pipelines that support analytics, visualizations, and applications.
• Develop, enhance, and deploy systems for advanced analytic data solutions.
• Perform data aggregation and manipulation so datasets are usable by science models, visualizations, and applications.
• Use GenAI tools to improve efficiency and deliver AI-based solutions.
• Explore and integrate GenAI tools and techniques into data engineering workflows to enhance automation.
• Build understanding of business domain processes and apply that knowledge to deliverables.
