At The Walt Disney Company (Corporate), this role leads research and development for advanced analytic data solutions powered by GenAI. You will plan and deliver the data pipelines that support critical decision science work, partnering closely with business and technology stakeholders to design, test, deploy, and sustain production capabilities in an in-office setting.

Role Overview

You will work with Decision Science Products, Decision Science, and client teams to shape data engineering approaches from early scope through production rollout. The position blends planning, technical design, and hands-on development, including leading design reviews and coordinating with project team members across multiple critical initiatives.

Location and Compensation

• Location: Lake Buena Vista, FL (onsite)
• Salary: USD 135,200 - 181,200 per year
• Hiring range note: Base pay offered will consider internal equity and may vary based on geographic region and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
• Additional compensation: A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided, and the full compensation package may include medical, financial, and/or other benefits.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead R&D for advanced analytic data solutions leveraging GenAI
• Partner with business and technology leaders to understand scope, requirements, business needs, and available data across Disney to design and deliver data pipelines
• Collaborate with Decision Science Products, Decision Science, and client teams on critical projects
• Plan, estimate, design, develop, test, coordinate production rollout, and sustainment activities
• Consult and collaborate with project team members
• Lead design reviews
• Perform hands-on development
• Communicate technical concepts and updates with colleagues and leaders

Requirements

• 7+ years experience in a data engineering development capacity across multiple environments (Dev, QA, Prod, etc.) and DevOps procedures for code deployment/promotion
• Experience translating project scope and high-level requirements into technical data engineering tasks
• Experience defining solutions for sophisticated data engineering problems supporting advanced analytic processes
• Experience with a variety GenAI models, tools, and concepts
• Understanding of Knowledge Graphs, Data Mesh, and other data sharing platforms
• 3+ years using, designing, and building relational databases (preferably Snowflake or PostgreSQL)
• 3+ years leading and deploying code using a source control product such as GitLab or GitHub
• 2+ years using job scheduling software such as Apache Airflow, Amazon MWAA, GitLab Runners, or UC4
• Experience collaborating with multiple project teams in a fast-paced environment
• Experience defining and estimating level-of-effort data engineering activities
• Experience with project and sprint planning
• Ability to communicate technical concepts and solutions to non-technical team members
• Experience designing and building data structures that support requirements
• Multiple years of experience developing and maintaining ELT/ETL data pipelines
• Multiple years of expertise using SQL and Python
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a multi-team environment

Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading development of GenAI based systems, including model selection, pipeline orchestration, and deployment strategies
• Experience defining GenAI architectures
• Knowledgeable with Disney Parks attendance, reservations, and/or products
• Experience with cloud-based technologies, preferably AWS EMR, EC2, and S3
• Experience with advanced Snowflake offerings such as Snowpark, Data Exchange, Data Marketplace, and Snowpipe
