The Walt Disney Company seeks a seasoned Manager, Data Engineering for the Disney Decision Science and Integration (DDSI) team in Orlando, Florida. You will lead a data engineering function building GenAI-powered analytics, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data platforms to support enterprise initiatives across Disney Entertainment, ESPN, Parks, and Corporate Finance.

This role emphasizes leadership, architecture, and delivering scalable data solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, software, electrical or electronics engineering, or comparable field of study and/or equivalent work experience.
8+ years of experience in technology roles spanning data engineering, software engineering, and/or architecture.
2+ years of experience leading and developing technology teams in a management capacity.
Experience identifying, evaluating, and implementing new data platforms, tools, and solutions to meet evolving business needs.
Working knowledge of generative AI concepts—including LLMs, RAG, knowledge graphs, and agents—with hands-on GenAI tooling experience.
Ability to bridge business and technical worlds with strong domain knowledge.
Proven ability to drive solutions from scoping through implementation while meeting deadlines and priorities.
Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organization.
Experience managing large-scale data platforms supporting one or more applications.
Experience with structured and unstructured data, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data warehousing architectures.
Proficiency in relational databases and data modeling with PostgreSQL, Snowflake, or Aurora.
Broad experience across data, applications, infrastructure, and architecture technologies.
Experience with modern cloud-based tools (AWS preferred) and source control (GitLab/GitHub).
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for deployment and orchestration.
Commitment to designing reusable tools and enforcing standards across the department.

Responsibilities

Lead a data engineering team through development and delivery of GenAI-powered analytic data solutions across the organization.
Scope, design, and implement ETL/ELT pipelines, data validation, and data architecture and governance.
Collaborate with business and technology leaders to translate goals into a strategic development roadmap.
Hire, mentor, and provide performance feedback to team members and build staffing plans for ongoing success.
Drive adoption of GenAI tooling, establish design patterns, and ensure scalable, reliable data platforms across multiple applications.
