Job summary

Rune Technologies is a defense-focused software company seeking a Data Engineer to own TyrOS data needs across deployments. You will assemble, clean, transform, and quality‑control real‑world datasets to support forward‑deployed operations.

You will track data sources, requirements, loaded status, and gaps, collaborating with FDEs and Mission Managers to translate customer needs into concrete data work. Travel ~25% to sites.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in data analysis, data engineering, or analytics-heavy work.
• Proficient in Python with real-world data experience.
• Strong SQL skills and data processing tooling.
• Experience cleaning, joining, transforming, and quality-controlling tabular data.
• Good written communication and ownership across deployments.
• Willingness to travel 25% and work front-line at sites.
• Security clearance or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Define data needs for TyrOS deployments and track loaded data.
• Assemble, clean, join, transform, and quality-control datasets.
• Track data sources, requirements, loaded status, and gaps across deployments.
• Collaborate with FDEs and Mission Managers to translate requirements.
• Identify data discrepancies and drive issues to resolution.
• Build standards for data assembly and quality control.
• Use Python and SQL for data analysis and automation.
• Travel 25% and work on-site at customer/military sites.
• Identify opportunities to automate recurring data work.
• Contribute to broader data engineering efforts.
