Job summary

ProspectBlue is partnering with a technology and management consulting firm to recruit a Data Engineer. You will join client engagements to build and modernize data pipelines across industries, spanning legacy-to-cloud and batch-to-real-time modernization.

The role offers hybrid work with occasional travel, and opportunities to lead a small delivery team depending on level. You will work on ingestion, storage, and cleansing, collaborating with clients and delivery teams, and applying modern data

Qualifications

• Experience at a technology or management consulting firm with pipeline work for outside clients.
• Strong SQL, Python, and Java; comfort with DevOps tooling.
• Experience with Spark, Databricks, Kafka, Kinesis, Hadoop/EMR.
• Cloud certifications AWS/Azure; GCP a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build ingestion, orchestration, transformation, and loading pipelines (medallion architecture, star schema, event-driven patterns).
• Work directly with clients as part of a delivery team - consulting work, not an internal data platform role.
• Own your piece of the stack: ingestion, storage, and cleansing (not analytics or reporting).

You'll join client engagements - not a single internal team - building and modernizing data pipelines for organizations across banking, healthcare, hospitality, retail, and other industries. Work spans legacy-to-cloud and batch-to-real-time modernization, and ranges from individual contributor to leading a small delivery team, depending on level.

What you'll do:

• Build ingestion, orchestration, transformation, and loading pipelines (medallion architecture, star schema, event-driven patterns)
• Work directly with clients as part of a delivery team - this is consulting work, not an internal data platform role
• Own your piece of the stack: ingestion, storage, and cleansing (not analytics or reporting)

What's required:

• Experience at a technology or management consulting firm - you've delivered pipeline work for outside clients, not solely built for one employer's internal use
• Strong SQL, Python, and Java; comfort with DevOps tooling
• Spark, Databricks, Kafka, Kinesis, Hadoop/EMR
• AWS and/or Azure cloud certifications (GCP a plus)
• Must be a U.S. citizen or green card holder - no sponsorship available
• Able to commute to one of the offices above; travel averages about one day a month
