Job summary

Galent, a leading IT service consulting company in Washington, DC, is seeking a Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and delivery. This onsite role focuses on building reliable ETL/ELT workflows and ensuring data quality across environments.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of hands-on data engineering, strong Python/SQL skills, and experience with Spark, Databricks, and CI/CD. AWS/Azure/GCP certifications are required.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years hands-on Data Engineering experience.
• Strong Python and SQL.
• Hands-on Spark / PySpark with exposure to Databricks.
• Experience building production ETL/ELT pipelines, including batch and/or streaming.
• Good understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, incremental processing, and data quality.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab, or similar).
• Working understanding of the SDLC and production support.
• At least one Associate-level or higher AWS, Azure, or GCP certification.

Job purpose

The Data Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and data solutions that enable reliable data ingestion, transformation, processing, and delivery. The role involves working with structured and unstructured data, building ETL/ELT pipelines, ensuring data quality and performance, and supporting analytics and business intelligence initiatives.

Job Description:

Must-Haves

• 2–4 years of hands-on Data Engineering experience
• Strong Python and SQL
• Hands-on Apache Spark / PySpark with exposure to Databricks.
• Experience building production ETL/ELT pipelines, including batch and/or streaming
• Good understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, incremental processing, and data quality
• Experience with Git and CI/CD (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab, or similar)
• Working understanding of the SDLC and production support
• At least one Associate-level or higher AWS, Azure, or GCP certification

Nice-to-Haves

• Exposure to Terraform / Infrastructure as Code
• Familiarity with Snowflake, Redshift, Synapse, or BigQuery
