Job summary

Soaring Eagle Data Solutions is seeking an onsite data engineering consultant to build and optimize data pipelines for Snowflake using dbt. The role focuses on developing dbt models, designing Snowflake environments, migrating SQL Server data, and delivering clean, well-tested SQL in a production setting.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on Snowflake experience, dbt Core or Cloud proficiency, strong SQL/T-SQL, and a background in data warehousing.

Job description

Onsite, hands‑on consulting engagement with a focus on Snowflake and dbt, building and optimizing pipelines and models for an immediate start.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain dbt models and data transformations
• Design, implement, and tune Snowflake environments, including warehouses, schemas, security, and performance
• Migrate and integrate data from SQL Server into Snowflake
• Write clean, efficient, and well‑tested SQL
• Collaborate with client stakeholders to gather requirements and convert business needs into technical solutions
• Propose best practices across data architecture, governance, and cost optimization

Requirements

• Hands‑on Snowflake experience in a production environment
• Experience building models and pipelines using dbt Core or dbt Cloud
• Strong SQL Server background, including T‑SQL, stored procedures, and SSIS (or similar)
• Excellent SQL skills and a solid understanding of data warehousing concepts
• Availability to start immediately

Nice to Have

• Snowflake or dbt certifications

Compensation

• $110,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
