ZipStaff is seeking a hands-on Senior Snowflake Data Engineer for a contract role in a Data and Analytics function at a professional services and accounting firm. You will write pipelines daily into Snowflake as an individual contributor, not a manager or architect. This position is remote in the U.S.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data engineering with modeling, ETL/ELT, and warehousing.
• 6+ years hands-on Snowflake architecture and current features.
• Complex SQL proficiency under questioning.
• Substantial dbt experience for transformations, not tutorials.
• Azure stack including SQL Server, Synapse, ADF, Databricks, Cosmos DB, Power BI.
• Informatica IDMC: Cloud Data Integration and exposure to CDGC/MDM/Data Quality.
• Programming in Python, C#, or Java.
• Able to overlap US and Ireland hours.
• US Citizen or Green Card only; no sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy ETL/ELT pipelines into Snowflake.
• Integrate databases, warehouses, APIs and external systems, and cleanse/aggregate/enrich data.
• Tune pipelines and Snowflake workloads for performance.

Job Title: Senior Snowflake Data Engineer. Location: Remote (U.S. — must overlap U.S. and Ireland hours). Employment Type: Contract (W2 through ZipStaff — No C2C or 1099).

About the Opportunity

ZipStaff is seeking a hands-on Senior Data Engineer for a new Data and Analytics function at a professional services and accounting firm.

You will write pipelines every day into Snowflake. This is an individual-contributor build seat — not an architect, not a manager, and not a production-support rotation. The current search is a replacement. The last two candidates were declined because Snowflake, SQL logic, and dbt were not deep enough.

What You’ll Do:

• Design, build, and deploy ETL/ELT pipelines with Informatica IDMC, Azure Data Factory, and dbt into Snowflake.
• Integrate databases, warehouses, APIs, and external systems, and cleanse, aggregate, and enrich the data.
• Tune pipelines and Snowflake workloads: bottlenecks, caching, and query performance.
• Put data-quality checks in the pipeline.
• Partner with architects, data scientists, and AI engineers without handing them the build.

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years data engineering: modeling, ETL/ELT, warehousing.
• 6+ years recent, hands-on Snowflake, including architecture and current features — not a one-year add-on.
• Complex SQL you can finish correctly under questioning.
• Substantial dbt for transformations, not a tutorial.
• Azure: SQL Server, Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Cosmos DB, and Power BI.
• Informatica IDMC: Cloud Data Integration, and exposure to CDGC, MDM, or Data Quality.
• Python, C#, or Java.
• Able to overlap U.S. and Ireland hours.
• U.S. Citizen or Green Card only. No sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Snowflake, Azure Data Engineer, or dbt certification.
• Professional services, accounting, or a managed-services environment.
