Job summary

UFCU Financial Services, LLC is seeking a Recovery Manager to lead charged-off loan recovery, manage vendor relationships, and drive data-informed improvements in liquidation outcomes. The role partners with the Director of Collections to refine strategies and ensure compliant, well-controlled recovery activities.

You will oversee agency selection, performance monitoring, and audits, while maintaining alignment with UFCU’s risk appetite and member-first standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalence required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in collections, recovery, charged-off loan servicing, vendor management, legal recovery, or related financial services role.
• Experience working with third-party collection agencies, legal recovery firms, recovery vendors, or outsourced collection partners.
• Experience creating or reconciling placement files, inventory files, payment files, posting files, remittance records, or comparable operational data files.
• Experience using AI-enabled tools, automation, reporting enhancements, or data analytics resources to support operational analysis, documentation, exception management, and workflow improvement in a controlled business environment.
• Must be bondable.

Responsibilities

• Lead recovery strategy and program management for charged-off loan balances, including inventory management and performance monitoring.
• Oversee third-party agencies and legal recovery firms, ensuring alignment with UFCU’s expectations and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and refine strategies using performance data and stakeholder feedback to optimize placement, liquidation, and recovery outcomes.
• Prepare transparent recovery performance reports for Collections leadership and cross-functional partners.
• Lead complex recovery and settlement negotiations and guide staff through related escalations.
