Job summary

Nuvision Federal Credit Union seeks a charged-off collections specialist to manage liquidation, recoveries, and maintenance of charged-off loans under supervision of the AVP Collections – Loss Mitigation. You will track and report money collected on charged-off loans and help improve the credit union’s bottom line.

You will negotiate settlements, document all activity, and work collaboratively with management to meet monthly recovery targets.

Qualifications

• Must have 3 years of hands-on collection experience, handling retail secured/unsecured loans.
• Strong knowledge of bankruptcy laws, foreclosures, repossessions and FDCPA.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Contact charged-off loan and negative share members to arrange repayment plans and document activity.
• Negotiate settlements to maximize recovery for the credit union.
• Meet monthly collection targets as defined in the business plan/goals.
