Job summary

New York State Homes and Community Renewal (HCR), including the State of New York Mortgage Agency (SONYMA), seeks a Program Analyst to support the Single-Family unit with quantitative and qualitative analysis, program development, and operational implementation. The role drives portfolio performance and bond transactions for affordable housing initiatives across New York State.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public administration, finance, economics, or related field.
• Superior quantitative research and verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments.
• Detail-oriented with commitment to data integrity and accuracy.
• Fluency in MS Office, particularly Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs and advanced formulas.

Responsibilities

• Assist Single-Family with quantitative and qualitative analysis, program development, and operational implementation.
• Support preparation of projections of mortgage purchases and commitment volumes for cash flow consultants, underwriters, and rating agencies.
• Prepare materials for Agency interest rate meetings and distribute daily rate bulletins to Participating Lenders.
• Act as a data-driven liaison for cash flow consultants, GSEs, rating agencies, bond counsels, and interagency contacts.
• Support bond-related activities including monitoring mortgage acquisitions and projections, and assess CRA eligibility.
