Job summary

New York State Homes and Community Renewal (HCR) is seeking a Post Closing - Loan Analyst in New York, NY to support SONYMA's purchase-file review and ensure compliance with mortgage document standards and IRS rules.

Work with the Post Closing Manager and AVP to review closed loans, communicate with lenders, and maintain accurate system records. Candidates should have mortgage document experience and strong MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint skills.

Qualifications

  • Experience with mortgage documents and practices.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Minimum 2 years college education preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Review closed document files for approval in accordance with SONYMA guidelines and IRS regulations.
  • Input loan status data into system of record for Closed Document files.
  • Correspond and communicate daily with participating lenders.
  • Resolve problems, errors and omissions on loan files and explain procedures to lenders.
  • Prepare forms for problem loans and list loans reviewed with missing document codes.
  • Proof data entry for loans reviewed and update loan status data for Final Document loans.
  • Communicate deficiencies on electronically submitted loan files and provide indexing feedback.
  • Prepare scanning checklists, inventory lists and status change lists for Final Document files.
  • Complete and submit daily report of day's activity.
  • Assist callers via the 800 room automated call distribution system as needed.
