This hands-on, early-career role emphasizes data-driven problem solving in a fast-paced outdoor manufacturing environment. Travel is minimal and location is Concord, NC, with ~8 hours/day, 40 hours/week.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Engineering, Chemistry, or Physics (Chemical/Mechanical preferred).
• 1+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong data analysis and statistical skills; proficiency in Excel and Access.
• Experience with experimental design.
• Strong technical fundamentals with process engineering skills.
• Project management experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide process understanding and technical support for chemical technology, pollution abatement, and facility systems in optical fiber manufacturing.
• Diagnose and resolve process issues through data analysis, experimentation, and collaboration with subject matter experts.
• Lead and support projects involving cost reduction, process optimization, and new product/process introduction.
• Analyze key process metrics, identify trends, and implement response plans.
• Support startup of new equipment and systems; develop and maintain engineering and operations documentation.
• Actively engage in plant safety initiatives and provide training to engineering and operations personnel on equipment and process changes.
