Job summary

Jalen Rose Leadership Academy in Detroit, MI is seeking a High School Principal to lead academic programs, daily operations, and student success with a data-driven approach and strong community partnerships.

The Principal will guide curriculum, assessment, and staff development, ensure compliance with education requirements, and foster a safe, inclusive learning environment while engaging families and district stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Educational Leadership is required or equivalent.
• Michigan School Administrator Certificate or eligibility to obtain one.
• Three to five years of teaching experience; leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for curriculum, instruction, assessment, and data-driven practices to improve student achievement.
• Recruit, hire, supervise, evaluate, and support staff through coaching and professional development.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment and oversee student discipline, attendance, and school safety policies.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and board policies including special education and English Learners requirements.
• Oversee daily operations including budgeting, scheduling, facilities, and resource allocation; use data to guide decisions.
