Job summary

Backroads is seeking a Demand Planner to optimize trip offerings and capacity, ensuring the right balance of supply and guest demand. You will analyze booking trends, market insights, and performance data to guide strategic planning and growth.

Based on a hybrid work model in Berkeley, this role collaborates with Trip Development, Marketing, Hotel Operations, Analytics, Sales, and Yield to drive data-driven recommendations and portfolio decisions.

Qualifications

3+ years of experience in planning, forecasting, or analytics.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or related discipline.
Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large datasets.

Responsibilities

Analyze booking trends, trip performance, and demand patterns to identify opportunities and risks across Backroads' trip assortment.
Review trip performance and departure schedules; make recommendations to adjust capacity, inventory, or departures.
Participate in biannual planning meetings; develop proposals and align stakeholders and leadership.
Serve as Demand Planning resource for the team’s service desk and cross-functional partners.
Contribute to annual assortment planning and define future Backroads portfolio.
Collaborate with Trip Development to align offerings with guest demand and capacity constraints.
Work with Marketing to prioritize trips and promotions based on demand trends and performance.
Monitor industry trends and market demand to identify new opportunities.
Prepare analyses and presentations for leadership and cross-functional inquiries.
