Job summary

Backroads seeks a seasonal Trip Development Coordinator to support the Trip Development Team in Berkeley, CA. You’ll improve resources and systems to ensure trips run smoothly and with high quality, reviewing Field Staff and Field Expert resources, auditing trip data, and assisting with internal tools and workflows.

Qualifications

  • 2+ seasons of Trip Expert experience is preferred but not required.
  • Informed, business-minded, and global perspective on Backroads.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Excellent organizational instincts and time management skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to identify patterns, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Comfortable working with data, spreadsheets, and large amounts of information.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
  • Comfortable working independently while also collaborating effectively with a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Curiosity, initiative, and a continuous-improvement mindset.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Review, update, and organize internal resources in Ascent, Teams, SharePoint, and other Backroads systems to keep content accurate and easy to find.
  • Audit trip and regional content in Ascent and the On Trip App to identify gaps and improvement opportunities.
  • Perform quality research and data analysis to support decision-making and project planning.
  • Help standardize processes and workflows to improve efficiency across the department.
  • Assist with developing, testing, and improving tools and systems, leveraging Copilot AI.
  • Collaborate with Trip Development partners and cross-functional teams to gather information and implement initiatives.
  • Contribute to projects that support trip quality, resources, and continuous improvement.
