Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Construction Estimator in Salem, MA to pre-construction work on commercial and institutional projects. The role focuses on take-offs, budgeting, and timely, accurate estimates to influence project success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
• 3–5+ years of construction industry experience preferred; training available for the right candidate.
• Solid understanding of construction fundamentals, take-offs, and estimating principles.
• Familiarity with blueprints and ability to interpret construction plans.

Responsibilities

• Review project specifications and drawings to understand scope and deliverables.
• Prepare detailed take-offs and cost analyses for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontract work.
• Build and submit complete proposals including budgeting, scheduling, and pricing strategies.
• Manage subcontractor invitations to bid and evaluate responses to ensure competitive pricing.
• Conduct subcontractor leveling and scope comparisons to support accurate buys.
• Perform project buy-out and contracting after award.
• Resolve cost discrepancies by collecting, analyzing, and reconciling data.
• Establish relationships with industry partners and stay informed on trends that influence pricing.
