Job summary

URBN Urban Outfitters, Inc. is seeking an Associate Buyer to support development of a customer-focused, trend-relevant product assortment aligned with the UO brand. The role collaborates with Buying, Planning and Allocation teams to aid in assortment planning, vendor communication, and product development. The candidate will use data and market insights to inform buying decisions and contribute to both core business and fashion-forward initiatives.

Qualifications

• Education: Fashion or merchandising degree or equivalent experience desired.
• Experience: 3+ years in a buying or retail role preferred.
• Analytical readiness: comfort with data and financial metrics like IMU, GM, WOS.

Responsibilities

• Assist in building a balanced assortment aligned with the brand.
• Support development of core categories plus seasonal newness.
• Communicate with vendors; support pricing, delivery, and terms.
• Assist Open to Buy management and maintain flow sheets.
• Analyze sales velocity and customer behavior to inform decisions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Planning, Allocation, and Buying teams.
