Job summary

IDEA Public Schools in Florida is seeking an energetic teacher to deliver rigorous instruction aligned with state standards and IDEA curricula. You will plan weekly lessons, assess student progress, and adapt instruction based on data while communicating with families and maintaining a positive classroom culture.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree and Florida educator certification; experience in a K-12 setting is preferred.

Qualifications

• High level of content-area proficiency as evidenced by teaching certification, field of study, or work-experience (strongly preferred).
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution (required).
• Experience: Experience in a K-12 classroom setting (strongly preferred).
• Licenses or Certifications: Holding or willing to pursue a Florida educator certification required; IDEA operates a certification program for non-certified IDEA teachers to gain certification while teaching.

Responsibilities

• Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula and assessments to meet ambitious academic expectations.
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
• Implement formal and informal assessments to track each student’s progress and adjust lesson plans accordingly.
• Communicate students’ progress with students and families weekly.
• Use technology to support instruction and school tasks.
• Establish a behavior management system aligned to campus initiatives.
• Help shape a school-wide culture fostering a productive learning environment.
• Build trust-based partnerships with students and families.
• Host tutoring sessions as needed and participate in weekly staff activities.
• Engage in district and school learning and development activities; commit to 40+ hours on campus weekly.
