Job summary

IDEA Public Schools seeks an enthusiastic IDEA Academy teacher in Florida to deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction and support student mastery and college readiness. You will plan effectively, assess progress, and collaborate with families to ensure continuous growth.

The role emphasizes data-informed instruction, strong classroom management, and active participation in school-wide initiatives while upholding IDEA values and a commitment to student success.

Qualifications

• High level of content-area proficiency evidenced by teaching certification, field of study, or work experience.
• Florida educator certification preferred or willingness to pursue certification.
• Experience in a K-12 classroom setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula and assessments to meet ambitious academic expectations.
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
• Assess progress using formal and informal assessments and update gradebook weekly.
• Communicate students' progress with students and families weekly.
• Utilize technology to enhance instruction and manage tasks effectively.
• Establish and maintain a positive classroom behavior system aligned to campus initiatives.
• Collaborate with colleagues to cultivate a productive school culture.
• Provide tutoring or after-school support as needed and participate in meetings.
