Job summary

Ingersoll Rand is seeking a Data Center Thermal Application Engineer to design, integrate, and deploy advanced cooling solutions for high-density workloads in modern data centers. The role involves collaborating with CDU suppliers, Dry Cooler and fan array vendors, and internal teams to deliver scalable and reliable cooling architectures.

The candidate will perform thermal calculations, size systems, and plan for redundancy while applying CFD tools and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Thermal Engineering.
• 5+ years of data center cooling, thermal engineering, or HVAC systems.
• Experience with CDUs, liquid cooling, Dry Cooler, fan arrays.
• Knowledge of ASHRAE TC9.9 and data center standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement thermal solutions using liquid cooling and high-performance air cooling.
• Define system-level cooling architectures with CDU loops and facility water systems.
• Optimize airflow strategies and perform thermal calculations.
• Collaborate with CDU, Dry Cooler, and fan array suppliers; coordinate FAT/SAT.
• Provide site support during installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Develop design guides and best practices for deployment.
