Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Telecomm Section Manager to lead design for data center telecommunications across multiple projects. The role involves organizing teams, guiding design, and ensuring timely delivery in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.

The position supports a hybrid work model with collaboration across Jacobs offices and remote locations, requiring strong communication and project-management skills. Ideal candidates have a PE license and data-center experience.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• If no degree, a high school diploma will be considered for the right person.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience leading designs for telecommunications structured cabling systems.

Responsibilities

• Organizing and assigning a team of leads across projects and clients.
• Project forecasting and staffing resources.
• Budgeting resources for multiple projects.
• Guiding and mentoring project leads through the design process.
• DIV 27 specification review and modification.
• Conducting site visits.
• Review of technical documents.
• Managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Active communication with department manager and telecom leads to meet deadlines.
