Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Telecom Section Manager to lead telecommunications design for data center projects across the United States in a hybrid work environment. The role covers structured cabling systems, telecom room design, and both inside and outside plant design within multiple concurrent projects.

Ideal candidates bring 4+ years in telecom design leadership, 2+ years managing a small team, and an RCDD credential, with strong project management and client coordination skills.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in electrical engineering or related discipline; if no degree, a high school diploma may be considered for the right person.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience actively leading designs for Telecommunications structured cabling systems.
• Minimum 2 years' experience managing a small team.
• Credential as an RCDD.
• Experience with data center construction and ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards.
• Familiarity with Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and Revizto.
• Strong project management and communication skills; ability to respond to RFPs and manage budgets/schedules.

Responsibilities

• Organizing and assigning a team of leads across various projects and clients.
• Project forecasting and staffing resources.
• Budgeting resources for multiple projects.
• Guiding and mentoring project leads throughout the design process.
• DIV 27 specification review and modification.
• Conducting site visits and reviewing technical documents.
• Managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Active communication with the department manager and telecom leads to ensure deadlines are met.
