Job summary

NTT Global Data Centers is looking for a Data Center Technician to safeguard the operational integrity of electrical, mechanical, and fire life safety systems across data center facilities. You will identify issues, coordinate with contractors, and ensure uptime while driving cost efficiency.

You will work under the CF Ops Lead Technician to execute preventive maintenance, monitor systems, and apply best practices to maximize customer uptime and safety.

Qualifications

• Possess understanding of mechanical, electrical, and fire life safety systems used in a data center environment including electrical distribution and layout, transformers, PLCs, generators, switchgear, UPS, PDU, chilled water systems, CRAC/CRAHs, and fire life safety compliance.
• Familiarity with NEC, NFPA codes, OSHA and state regulations relevant to data center safety and building codes.
• Ability to work with contractors to review quality assurance for system expansions, corrections, and upgrades.

Responsibilities

• Develops approaches to keep operational costs to a minimum, improve efficiency, and implement new strategies.
• Mechanical responsibilities include chilled water systems, HVAC units such as rooftops, CRAC/CRAH, and humidification.
• Electrical responsibilities cover distribution from utility/generator switchgear through UPS to customer load.
• Fire Life Safety responsibilities involve wet and pre-action sprinkler systems and detectors.
• Reads blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and technical orders to determine methods and sequences of processes.
• Inspects parts for surface defects and installs electrical or electronic parts using hand tools.
• Operates, monitors, maintains, and responds to abnormal conditions in Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Life Safety, and Building Monitoring systems.
• Analyzes systems to ensure best practices for internal and external customers.
• Provides feedback to engineering on standards and processes; reviews contractor work for quality.
• Maintains aggressive preventive and predictive maintenance program with CF Ops Lead Technician.
