Job summary

DSV – Global Transport and Logistics in Michigan City, IN is seeking a Data Center Associate to support material orders, customer service, and inventory management. You will assemble and install servers and electronic components using hand and power tools, following diagrams and schematics to ensure accurate rack setups.

Daily tasks include inbound/outbound freight handling, quality checks, and equipment operation, all while maintaining safety and 5S standards in a dynamic datacenter

Qualifications

• Good interpersonal and customer service skills are required.
• 1-3 years of related experience is required.
• Knowledge of electrical safety and static discharge hazards and protocols is required.
• Experience with computers is required.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload inbound and outbound freight to and from vehicles and containers.
• Perform quality checks on inbound and outbound freight, checking for accurate part numbers and quantities.
• Execute daily inventory cycle counts and replenishment orders for critical spare parts on site at the datacenter.
• Process return shipments of various electronic components using multiple warehouse management systems.
• Place server racks on the datacenter floor using laser measuring devices with 100% accuracy.
• Populate electronic components and install cabling into server racks by following diagrams and schematics.
• Install rack hardware using various hand, power and measuring tools.
• Operate material handling equipment such as straddle stackers, rack movers and electric pallet jacks.
• Perform cleanup activities to maintain safety and 5S standards.
• Push, pull and lift frequently throughout the workday.
