Job summary

Google is seeking an Operations Technician to install, configure, test, troubleshoot, and maintain hardware and server software for its data center infrastructure. The role involves deploying new infrastructure, diagnosing complex issues, and coordinating with teams on projects.

Experience in data centers and Linux environments is preferred. Responsibilities include disassembling end-of-life equipment, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring security and data integrity while working

Qualifications

• Experience with component-level repairs and troubleshooting on IT equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot operating systems, computer hardware and server hardware.
• Experience with networking protocols.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lb and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Ability to work non-standard hours including weekends, nights, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and operate data center infrastructure across teams.
• Troubleshoot issues and follow procedures to diagnose and resolve complex equipment or infrastructure problems.
• Maintain data security and integrity, ensure proper data erasure and security compliance.
• Disassemble end-of-life equipment via parts replacement within teams.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment, servers, and infrastructure.
