Job summary

Google is seeking a Data Center Technician at an early career level to install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain hardware and server software in our data centers. You will handle component-level repairs and work with networking components and protocols.

The role includes physically demanding tasks such as lifting and moving equipment and working non-standard hours. Collaborate with teams to overcome challenges and support data center operations, with a culture focused on cutting-edge

Qualifications

Experience performing component-level repairs and troubleshooting on technical equipment.
Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting OS, computer/server hardware, or networking protocols.
Ability to lift/move 50lb (23kg) of equipment and perform physical tasks over extended periods.
Must be able to work non-standard hours including weekends, night shifts, holidays, and shift-based schedules.

Responsibilities

Deploy and operate data center infrastructure across projects or functions.
Troubleshoot issues with equipment or infrastructure and apply resources to resolve them.
Maintain data security and integrity, ensure proper data erasure per standards.
Disassemble end-of-life equipment in a team setting and perform maintenance.
Repair and perform preventative maintenance on equipment and infrastructure.
