Job summary

Google is seeking an Operations Technician for its Hardware Operations team to install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain hardware and server software in data centers. You will handle complex components like networks and routers, participate in project teams, and develop contingency plans.

The role involves physical tasks such as moving racks and is at the cutting edge of infrastructure. The AI and Infrastructure division enables scalable AI workloads, serving Google and Cloud customers

Qualifications

Experience with component-level repairs and troubleshooting on technical equipment.
Experience diagnosing OS, server hardware, or networking protocols.
Ability to lift/move 50 lb (23 kg) and perform physical tasks over extended periods.
Ability to work non-standard hours, including weekends, nights, holidays and on shift-based schedules.

Responsibilities

Deploy and operate new data center infrastructure across projects or functions.
Report issues and troubleshoot straightforward issues with equipment or infrastructure as they arise.
Maintain data security and integrity following Google security standards.
Disassemble equipment at end-of-life in a team setting.
Repair and perform preventative maintenance on equipment and infrastructure.
