Job summary

Google is seeking an Operations Technician to install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain hardware and server software in a cutting-edge data center environment. You will work hands-on with racks, networks, and infrastructure, leading small project teams on installations and contributing to contingency planning.

The role emphasizes collaboration across teams, physical readiness, and the ability to work non-standard shifts as needed in a fast-paced, high-security data center setting.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing OS, computer/server hardware, or networking protocols.
• Ability to lift 50 lb (23 kg) and perform physical work for extended periods.
• Willingness to work non-standard hours, weekends, nights, holidays and on shift-based schedules.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and operate new data center infrastructure across projects or functions.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose straightforward issues with equipment or infrastructure as they arise, following data center procedures.
• Maintain the security and integrity of data per Google security standards.
• Disassemble end-of-life equipment in a team setting and replace parts.
• Repair and perform preventative maintenance on equipment, servers, machines, or infrastructure with defined solutions.
