Job summary

Google is seeking an Operations Technician to install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain hardware (servers and components) and server software, including configuring networks and switches. This role involves manual rack handling, collaboration on small projects, and potential leadership of project teams.

The AI and Infrastructure teams empower Google Cloud and billions of users, delivering scalable, reliable hardware and software infrastructure.

Qualifications

Experience with component-level repairs and troubleshooting on technical equipment.
Diagnosis and troubleshooting of OS, computer hardware and server hardware.
Experience with networking protocols.
Ability to lift 50 lb (23 kg) and perform physically demanding work.
Ability to work non-standard hours, including weekends, nights and holidays.

Responsibilities

Deploy and operate new data center infrastructure across teams.
Report issues and troubleshoot complex equipment or infrastructure as they arise.
Maintain security and integrity of data per Google security standards.
Disassemble equipment at end-of-life via part replacement within teams.
Repair and perform preventative maintenance on equipment and infrastructure.
