Job summary

Google’s Hardware Operations team keeps the world’s data infrastructure running smoothly. As an Operations Technician, you’ll install, configure, test, and maintain hardware and server software, including complex networking components.

You’ll participate in small projects and develop contingency plans while handling physically demanding tasks in a cutting-edge environment. We empower Google customers with scalable AI and infrastructure capabilities.

Qualifications

• Experience repairing and troubleshooting IT equipment or related roles.
• Experience diagnosing OS, hardware, or networking issues.
• Ability to work non-standard shifts and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and operate new data center infrastructure across projects or functions.
• Report issues and follow data center procedures to troubleshoot and diagnose straightforward issues with equipment or infrastructure as they arise, and applying the resources needed to resolve identified issues.
• Maintain the security and integrity of data, track media for standard data security issues per Google standards.
• Disassemble equipment at end-of-life for part replacement in a team setting.
• Repair and perform preventative maintenance on equipment, servers, or infrastructure with defined solutions and guidance.
