Job summary

The Data Center Technician II at Astreya in Colorado performs hardware installation into racks, asset tagging, cabling, data-center maintenance, and process documentation. Responsibilities include installing, moving, decommissioning hardware, labeling devices, working in ticketing systems, and following SOPs under supervision while meeting quality standards.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED with 2–5 years’ related experience, strong English communication, on-call within 1 hour,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2–5 years related experience or training.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication.
• On-call availability within 1 hour.
• Experience with ticketing systems and SOP standards.
• Ability to cable systems per ticket requirements.
• Experience with CAT5e/CAT6 copper and fiber.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong organizational skills and hardware knowledge.
• Understanding of networking components and infrastructures.
• Knowledge of copper/fiber testers and troubleshooting.
• Familiar with Data Center best practices.
• Experience with cable management and data-center cabling.
• Knowledge of electrical/HVAC basics and bandwidth infra.
• Able to operate server lifts, pallet jacks, forklifts (if certified).
• Proficient with MS Office; able to learn new software.
• Must provide own transportation to work locations.

Responsibilities

• Install, move, and decommission hardware including racks, shelves, cables, servers, and storage.
• Confirm and label devices, racks, and cables.
• Work in a ticketing system and communicate with customers clearly.
• Follow SOPs, policies, safety, and security requirements while ensuring quality output.
• Other duties as required; not a comprehensive list.
