Job summary

Google in Red Oak, TX, is seeking an Operations Technician to install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain hardware and server software in a data-center environment. You will work on networks, routers, and switches, leading small project teams and developing contingency plans.

Physical tasks include moving racks and setup in a cutting-edge infrastructure setting. The AI and Infrastructure team supports Google Cloud and billions of users, emphasizing reliability, efficiency and velocity

Qualifications

Bachelors degree or equivalent practical experience.
4 years of experience maintaining and monitoring server systems.
Experience repairing IT equipment or in a similar role (systems administration, network deployment, help desk).
Experience in a data center or network operation center environment.
Experience with Linux operating systems.
Experience in project management and leadership, and collaborating with teams.

Responsibilities

Deploy and operate new data center infrastructure across teams.
Report issues and follow procedures to diagnose and resolve equipment or infrastructure issues.
Maintain security and integrity of data per Google security standards.
Disassemble equipment at end-of-life within teams.
Repair and perform preventative maintenance on equipment and infrastructure.
