Job summary

Google is seeking an Operations Technician to install, configure, test, troubleshoot, and maintain hardware and server software in a cutting-edge data center environment. You'll handle networks, routers, hubs, and switches, with opportunities to lead small projects and develop contingency plans.

The role emphasizes hands-on installation and repair work, collaborating with teams to overcome challenges in a dynamic, infrastructure-centric setting.

Qualifications

• Experience with component-level repairs and troubleshooting on technical equipment.
• Experience diagnosing OS, server hardware, or networking protocols.
• Ability to lift/move 50 lb and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Ability to work non-standard hours, including weekends, nights, holidays.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and operate new data center infrastructure across projects or functions.
• Report issues and follow data center procedures to troubleshoot equipment as needed.
• Maintain data security and integrity per Google standards.
• Disassemble end-of-life equipment in a team setting.
• Repair and perform preventative maintenance on equipment and servers.
